In the spring of 2024, Marcus, Scott and Mayra—also known as Roxy Vines—took a leap of faith and began laying the groundwork for what would become South East Gutter Monkeys. Marcus, a 2022 graduate of the carpentry program at Upper Cape Tech, had already been honing his skills on carpentry crews across Cape Cod. By May 2024, he was eager for something more substantial in the field, and Mayra had an idea—why not reach out to Cape Cod Gutter Monkeys?
Cape Cod Gutter Monkeys, a well-respected, family-owned business, happened to be hiring for their cleaning and installation crews. Conveniently located just down the road, they had even installed new gutters on our home a few years prior, so we already knew firsthand the quality of their work and professionalism. As we explored their website, one particular opportunity caught our eye: franchising.
Scott, approaching 20 years in his state job and eligible for retirement, had been considering a new chapter. The idea of building our own family business had been simmering for some time, and this felt like the perfect moment to make it happen. That’s when we connected with Bruce, Dennis, and Andy—the visionary leaders behind Cape Cod Gutter Monkeys. Their passion for the business was undeniable, but what truly sealed the deal for us was their commitment to fostering a positive, people-first culture.
